"Garden Walk with a Pro' Private Group Tour Experience

This tour is intended for groups (garden clubs, families, staff, etc.) looking to receive a private garden tour. Tours will be led by Rip Sokol, founder of Fourth Generation Nursery, The Hosta Farm of Mendon, and Head gardener here at the farm for over 30 years. We can comfortably accommodate up to 20 people a day (will be split into 2 tour groups of 10 people). Tours can be purchased with or without additional 'shopping time' at the Hosta Farm. Those who attend a tour without 'shopping time' WILL NOT be able to purchase any plants while at the Farm, unless it is pre-ordered.

When can I visit the Hosta Farm?

We are open only select days of the year. We are open to the retail public, free of charge, ONLY on our 'Hosta Days' (list of dates can be found on our home page)

Special Events, and other open days will be posted on our calendar.

Do you only sell Hostas?

No! While we are best known for our hosta collection, it is not all that we do. On our open days we will happily sell any of our plants, including our aquatics and trees!

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash.

Can I bring my dog?

We welcome all dogs who have well behaved owners. Dogs must be leashed at all times.

What are walking conditions like?

While we do our best to make the farm as accessible as possible, our paths and roads are not paved. Muddy/wet conditions are possible, and we ask that visitors dress appropriately for such.

When can I see the gardens?

Our gardens are open for exploration on all of our 'Hosta days'. On these days, guests are welcome to explore the gardens at their own pace. We offer guided (ticketed) garden tours throughout the season, they will be announced here on our calendar. Please note that the gardens are only open when the hosta farm is open. Unexpected visitors on closed days will be asked to leave.
